Carnival Messenger

My role was as Senior UX Designer, working closely with the project manager, development team and the lead Senior UX Designer. This was one of my first projects at Level 11!

The Ask

Help the team understand the rules given to us by the client, surrounding how kids get incorporated into Carnival's onboard messaging feature as part of the Medallion Class guest app. Then, create designs for implementing the new functionality.

THE PLAN

Help everyone get on the same page, and double check that we understand the client's vision. Then deliver the new functionality and release it to the Medallion Class app! (Formerly known as Ocean Compass at the time of this project)

understanding permissions

One of the first steps was to understand the rules surrounding children using the messenger app.

Kid Friendly User Flows

There were a lot of complexities surrounding the rules, so I created usersflows to test our understanding of what the client communicated. These helped us align on the functionality and expectations.

These are the diagrams created from the permissions that we confirmed with the client.

scenario designs

These are the design comps that were put together to represent the scenarios mapped out in the userflows.
